In the country where I live in, the Philippines, we have a funny way of using names for commonly used objects. For toothpaste, we would say Colgate even if our intention was to buy a different brand. Toyota faces the same thing for their Hybrid Synergy Drive technology which is the 2008 Green Engine of the Year. The Prius which is popular as the most fuel efficient and environment friendly engine that people associates it with the Prius which is the name of a car model by Toyota. Toyota decided that instead of putting the name Hybrid Synergy Drive in cars as names, Prius would be used because it sticks in the minds of the consumers.
